By agreeing to tell your story of mental health issues or problematic substance use and how advocacy may have made a difference, you will help increase other people’s understanding.

Your story may encourage someone else to use advocacy at a point when they are struggling, and may help them feel less alone.

Telling your story is also another way that your voice can be heard. It is important that lived experience is at the heart of all the services available to those that need them. The stories of those who have used mental health and problematic substance use services can help the professionals who run them to gain a better understanding of what is working well and what can be a challenge for people.

We are always looking for people who would like to share their story. We may use your story in our newsletters, on our website or in reports, but we will never use your name without your permission.

If this is something you might be interested in talking about, please contact us here.
