Problematic Substance Use Advocacy

AdvoCard provides individual advocacy services to people in Edinburgh who have or have had problems with substance use.

We work with people who identify as in recovery, accessing services, and those that are not in recovery. We support people who are actively using alcohol and drugs.

    An advocacy worker can:
  • Discuss your rights and options with you and support you to make an informed choice
  • Support you at meetings and in communicating with other staff to ensure that your voice and views are heard
  • Attend meetings alongside you, support you by being your voice and representing your views.
  • Make sure that staff hear what you think is the best treatment and service for you
  • Be there and be on your side

If you think advocacy may be able to help, and you want to find out more, or have an informal chat about what we do, please contact us here.
