AdvoCard was started in 1994 to provide independent advocacy in North East Edinburgh to people with mental health issues. Over the years we have expanded and developed, and we now work across the whole city and provide services to people with problematic substance use and those in prison, too. We continue to work hard to reach new people who may benefit from advocacy.
We have a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, many of whom have been working with AdvoCard for more than 10 years, some of our volunteers more than 20.
To provide independent advocacy in Edinburgh for people with mental health issues, we work in partnership with CAPS independent advocacy and the Royal Edinburgh Hospital Patients Council. More information about their services can be found here:
